What Do Your Company Colors Say to Your Customers?

Get On The Right WavelengthDo you put much thought into the color schemes of your website, logo, and advertisements? Different types of colors can telegraph many different emotions and elicit many different responses. When setting up your next promotion, consider which one of these best represents the message your business is trying to get across:

Red

Red draws attention. Psychologically, red symbolizes energy, passion, action, strength and excitement.

Red can indicate your energy and passion for your business. It encourages buyers to take action. And works well for a ‘buy now’ button on your website.

Red excites and motivates but may also cause anxiety and negative connotations. A universal warning sign, it can also reflect aggressiveness, anger, and caution.

Orange

Orange projects fun and risk-taking. It signifies adventure, optimism, and self-confidence. Orange stimulates communication and the senses. It inspires and creates enthusiasm.

Use orange sparingly, however. While it can denote quality and affordability, it high quantities it can suggest cheapness. Studies also find orange to be the least popular of colors as well.

Yellow

Yellow creates a sense of cheerfulness and playfulness. It is optimistic and lightens spirits.

Yellow stimulates the logical side of the brain and increases our reasoning and analytical processing. It promotes clarity, wisdom, and knowledge and helps with decision-making.

Too much yellow may cause anxiety and agitate people under stress. Avoid this color if you seek a calming effect. Use it instead to create excitement and activity.

Green

Green represents growth, vitality, and renewal. It brings a sense of harmony and balance to the body and the mind. Green balances emotions and fosters a sense of calm.

Green is also associated with nature and the environment and implies something is new and fresh. While too much green can invoke feelings of envy and greed, green can also suggest compassion and nurturing and encourages kindness and healing.

Blue

The most popular color, blue implies trust, honesty, and loyalty. It suggests reliability and responsibility. Blue calms and reduces tension and anxiety. Blue indicates confidence, reliability and responsibility.

Blue works well with corporations and conservative businesses seeking to establish a sense of honesty and dependability. However, too much blue may cause boredom and predictability.

Purple

Purple suggests wealth and extravagance. It enhances spirituality and enlightenment. Purple heightens your senses and your reactions to creativity.

A color traditionally representing royalty, businesses often use purple to denote a high quality product. Marketers connect it with sophistication. Use this color in promotions for your premium service.

Black

Seen as dignified and serious, black symbolizes power and control. It can reflect strength and confidence and foster an air of mystery. It creates a sense of authority.

Black implies elegance and sophistication. It can make an object appear to have a higher perceived value. However, it can also be intimidating and unfriendly. Too much black may make your brand feel unapproachable.
